Prostheses: It takes two.

Giving up is NOT an option.  

  When starting our list of firsts, we had no idea we'd be re-doing them so soon. Katie became a BK(Below Knee) amputee in 2019. By 2021, we suffered another blow and she lost the other leg. In 2022, her second BK became an AK(Above Knee), thus taking on an AK/BK bilateral amputee lifestyle. As if it wasn't hard enough losing one leg, now every single aspect of daily living became a challenge. Making decisions based on a lifetime of what we called "normal" was impossible. Devastated, but unwilling to accept a new normal, reality set in. Holy shit! We have work to do. Sometimes it feels like one step forward, two steps back. But we never stop going.
